What is the Residency?

The Duffled Residency is a six-week immersive programme for writers, photographers, designers, and multimedia creators based in East Africa. Selected residents work directly with the Duffled editorial team to develop and publish original work, build their audience, and establish their creative voice.

This isn't an internship. There's no coffee-fetching. You come in with ideas, we give you the platform, the tools, and the mentorship to execute them at the highest level.

Each cohort is small — a maximum of five residents — so everyone gets genuine attention and real publishing credits.

Illustrators, graphic designers, and digital artists pushing boundaries.

Short-form, documentary, editorial. We're building our video presence.
🎵 Music Writers
Reviews, interviews, features. Covering East Africa's music scene.
💡 Idea People
Generalists with a strong POV and creative ambition we haven't thought of yet.
