Kuda Rice Takes Creative Expression to New Heights

In a world where creatives are often pressured to fit into narrow boxes, Kuda Rice is defying conventions and pushing boundaries. This talented wordsmith has not only made a name for themselves as a poet, but has also expanded their creative scope into fashion, film, and music – and is now being recognized with the prestigious national award for “Outstanding Poet.” A True Renaissance Rebel Kuda’s journey to success has been anything but conventional.

With a background in writing and storytelling, he began to explore other creative outlets, from designing their own clothing line to directing short films and producing music. This fearless approach to creativity has not only earned them a loyal following but has also caught the attention of industry insiders. “When I first picked up the pen, my aim was to express the thoughts and emotions that wouldn’t leave my four walls.

I turned those walls into an audience, and at some point, I found myself seeking their feedback. It was a peculiar ritual, but one that helped me develop my pen and craft in isolation. I learnt at some point that what i had was a gift that wasn’t mine to keep in isolation but breaking out of that comfort zone required immense bravery. The art form I had developed in solitude was one that demanded vulnerability in front of real people, not just my faithful four walls. It’s been 9 years since I took that leap, and that act of bravery has led to me winning the prestigious National Arts Merit Award @namaszim (NAMA) in Zimbabwe for ‘Outstanding Poet’. To me, this achievement isn’t just a celebration of my craft, but a testament to the bravery that fueled its pursuit.

With love and dedication, I’ve nurtured my craft, and though the fruits of my labor are worth celebrating, I’m reminded that none of it would have been possible if my four walls hadn’t listened to me first.” Kuda says to our sources.
